Risk Based Inspection (RBI)

Many companies follow, or are thinking about following an RBI strategy.  This generally entails a formal process via which a team of competent persons analyse the risks and consequence of failure to determine Inspection schemes and frequencies.  Essentially the aim is to focus the Inspection activity where it is needed most providing improved cost/benefit.

Registry and Document Control

Registry service employing comprehensive databases for the safe storage and retrieval of clients records including the operation of scheduling systems which can also provide information, via the web, directly to the client at the touch of a button.

Training / consultancy / legislative compliance audits

Many customers are seeking to develop the understanding of their workforce with regard to the Pressure Systems Regulations and other related legislation.  Equally they are looking for assistance in the training and development of their own Inspection resource.

Assurance Projects.

The undertaking of any Inspection activity is only a part of the total process that has to be conducted.  For example in order to inspect a vessel it may be necessary to erect a scaffold, take off lagging, grit blast the vessel surface, etc.  After the Inspection has been carried out it may be necessary to effect repairs.

R & A Kay Inspection Services Ltd have many years experience of managing these activities in the form of Revalidation or Assurance Projects.  Essentially, this involves taking ownership of all activities to facilitate the Inspection and equally any repairs or refurbishment that may be required.  The ability to be able to take this total ownership is becoming increasingly important to many clients who find that their own resources are becoming increasingly depleted and stretched.

Civil/structural Inspections

Although the main thrust from the Health and Safety Executive has been to focus on Pressure Systems there is increasing awareness and desire to ensure that civil and structural infrastructure are equally maintained fit for purpose.  Indeed, since this infrastructure is often supporting pressure systems it is essential that the same standards are applied.
